Kigali Car free zone

The Kigali car free zone, also known as Imbuga city walk center, is one of the notable attractions in Kigali city. Many visitors to Rwanda, find a lot of freedom and relaxation in this focal point.

The Imbuga City Walk is a pedestrian-only area in Kigali’s central business center. It was converted into a recreational and green space, in December 2021. The design of the zone is pedestrian and cycling-friendly, comprising walkways, natural green corridors, kiosks for food, towering commercial buildings, arcades, an exhibition area, and a playground.  Your Kigali City Walk in this zone is supplemented by various support services, including street benches, free Wi-Fi, a city lounge, pedestrian-friendly street lighting, and public restrooms. Buhanga Eco Park

This is one of  Rwanda’s hidden cultural treasures  found in Volcanoes national park. the eco park spans 31hectaresin Nyakimana village 18km from Musanze town. This sacred forest is  culturally known to have been the origin of creation and the first kings of Rwanda performed different rituals like coronation, ritual baths,  and considered  to secure blessings and protection of the kingdom by the gods and was always feared by the locals.

Currently, the eco park is fully gazetted for cultural tourism, offering visitors sights to diverse wildlife through the lush trails and birding is the main activity in this serene forest park. The park is a peaceful place to relax that blends natural beauty with a lot of cultural history.

Nyandungu eco park

Nyandungu eco park is one of Rwanda’s urban restored wetlands and recreation centre. restoration of this project aims at enhancing biodiversity and conservation to promote social-economic development. The park covers 134 ha in Kigali, a few kilometres from Kigali international airport.

The park has paths for walking and biking, a restaurant, floral gardens for picnics, and is a favourite destination for birders. It’s a peaceful place to relax and learn. It displays Rwanda’s concerns for green cities and eco-friendly tourists.

The twin lakes (Bulera and Ruhondo)

The Twin Lakes are two adjacent water bodies found in the Northern Rwandan districts of Musanze and Burera, surrounded by scenic hills and the Virunga Volcanoes. Ndaba rock and waterfalls

Ndaba Rocks and waterfalls, locally referred to as “Urutare rwa Ndaba,” are a significant element of Rwanda’s rich cultural and educative history. This site is found in the Karongi district, along the route to Kigali or Kibuye and Gitarama, approximately 12 kilometres (7.5 miles) from the Karongi district Headquarters.  This site was named after a   historical greedy man called Ndaba who died in a honey cave because of his greed. Thie place has scenic   views at its surroundings and beautiful waterfalls. It’s a great spot for nature walks and picnics, providing insight into Rwandan culture and natural beauty.

Bugarama hot spring

In addition to being one of the most popular hot springs in Rwanda, the Bugarama Hot Springs are also among the most popular hot springs visited by both international and local visitors. The falls are just sixty kilometres from the Cyangugu village in Rusizi district, in the western province of Rwanda.  The falls appear as a green pool of water as they are covered by a beautiful water lily called Nymphaea thermarum. The peaceful setting, local culture, and wildlife are always explored by tourists, making it a complete place for relaxing and ecotourism.
