Detailed Itinerary of the 10 Days Rwanda Gorillas Wildlife & Chimps Safari
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to hotel in Kigali
on the first day of the 10 Days Rwanda Gorillas Wildlife & Chimps Safari, on arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you are picked up by a driver guide who transfers you to check-in your lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Chezlando Hotel.
Day 2: City Tour & Transfer to Akagera National Park
Day 2 of 10 days in Rwanda, wake up to have breakfast then transfer to enjoy a city tour visiting the various Genocide Memorials and National Museums around Kigali then later break off for lunch and later transfer to Akagera National Park. On arrival at the Park, check-in at your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight. Rusizi Tented Camp.
Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Akagera
Wake up early have breakfast then transfer to enjoy a game drive along the various tracks in the park, watching numerous wildlife animals wandering around their natural habitat. After breaking off for lunch, then later proceed on a Boat Cruise along Lake Ihema where you can watch various wildlife, birds, crocodiles, hippos etc. Afterwards, return to your lodge for relaxation. You can then either enjoy a night Game Drive or not. Dinner and Overnight at Rusizi Tented Camp.
Day 4: Transfer to King’s Palace and Butare Museum
Day 4 of 10 Days Rwanda Gorillas Wildlife & Chimps Safari, wake up have breakfast then transfer to visit the Nyanza King’s Palace, where you learn about the history of Rwanda, Kings and People. After breaking off for lunch, then proceed to visit the Butare Museum, where you learn about the tragic Genocide in which many lost their dear lives, relatives and friends. Day 5: Visit Murambi Genocide Memorial & Canopy Walk Nyungwe
Day 5 of 10 Days Rwanda Gorillas Wildlife & Chimps Safari, Wake up have breakfast then transfer to explore and visit the Murambi Genocide Memorial where you watch, learn about the tragic Genocide incident in which many people lose their dear lives then later break off for lunch and after transfer to Nyungwe Forest to enjoy a canopy walk from one point to another at the top of gigantic mahogany trees. After the canopy walk, transfer to check-in at your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Nyungwe Hill Top View Hotel.
Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking and Optional Waterfall Hike
Wake up early have breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters to be briefed on the code of conduct around the chimpanzees, then later in groups of 8 with a park ranger entering the forest to track the Chimpanzees for 2-4 hours and when you meet them, only an hour is allowed in their presence to take various photos to keep for memories. After Chimpanzee Tracking, proceed back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Nyungwe Hill Top View Hotel.
Day 7: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Wake up have breakfast then transfer to Volcanoes National Park for a period of time then later you reach the Park and proceed to check-in your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Bishop’s house.
Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Wake up early have breakfast then transfer to the Park headquarters for briefing on the code of conduct around the Mountain Gorillas then later in groups of 8 with a park ranger enter the forest to track the Gorillas for 3-5 hours and when you meet them, only an hour is allowed in their presence. After Gorilla trekking, return back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Bishop’s house.
Day 9: Golden Monkey tracking in Volcanoes
On the second last day of 10 Days Rwanda Gorillas Wildlife & Chimps Safari, wake up have breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for briefing on the code of conduct around the Golden Monkeys then later in groups transfer along the various trails to track the Golden Monkeys for 2-4 hours and when you meet them, only an hour is allowed in their presence to take various photos to keep for memories. After Golden Monkey tracking, return back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Bishop’s house.
Day 10: Departure in Kigali
Wake up have breakfast then with your luggage, embark on a transfer to Kigali International Airport to board your flight back home. This marks the end of the 10 Days Rwanda Gorillas Wildlife & Chimps Safari.
