5 Days gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safaris takes you through Kibale national park for the chimpanzees for tracking in the rainforests. An interaction with these chimps gives you a unique experience in the forests of Kibale. Travelling to Kibale brings you close to different attractions like birds, primate species and families along the roadsides of the park. on 5 Days gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safaris, after chimpanzees travel to Bwindi’s impenetrable national park for gorilla trekking, due to several families and habituated groups in this place trekked to different sectors namely Rushaga, Ruhija, Buhoma and Nkuringo. Bwindi’s gorillas are divided into 50 families and 13 are solitary individuals, although only 21 of them are habituated.
Day 1: Pick up and drive to Bwindi National Park
On the 5 Days gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safaris, the morning after breakfast, you will be picked from your hotel or airport and head to Bwindi but pass by lake Bunyonyi in eastern side of the park and have a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe, where you will have a photography stop at the equator for memories and later drive to Mbarara town for your lunch. Later, drive through the amazing hills of Kigezi, check-in later in the evening at the lodge for a night and dinner depending on your sector for trekking.
Day 2: gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest national park
Day 2 of 5 Days gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safaris, early morning after breakfast, the guide will drive you to Rushaga sector which has the highest number of habituated gorilla families, and it can be accessed from Kigali city via Kyanika border in Kisoro. You will head to the headquarters for a briefing and head into the forest for the trekking which takes about 7 hours depending on the location of the gorillas giving you the lifetime experience on your safari. When you find the gorilla, you will have an hour to spend with them, observe them, take photography for your memories and later you will receive a certificate that confirms that you have tracked in Uganda. Later, you will head back to the lodge for a rest, a night and dinner.
Day 3: transfer to Kibale national park
In the morning, after breakfast, you will checkout and drive to Kibale national park through queen Elizabeth national park giving you chances to spot wildlife through the savanna park, cross the equator at, where you will have a night for your next activity. In your drive to Kibale, you will cross many rivers which originate from Rwenzori Mountain through Kasese district to fort portal, have a lunch break in fort portal town before proceeding to the lodge in the park
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi.
Early morning after breakfast, on day 4 of 5 Days gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safaris, you will be driven to the park offices for a briefing about the dos and don’ts of the park and briefly talk about it. You will then proceed to hike in the rainforests of Kibale where you will find one of the chimpanzee families which live in communities of between 50 to 250 individuals and usually break into small parties during the day to reduce food competition. When you find these primates, you will have an hour to spend with these chimps and later, return to the lodge for lunch. Later, after lunch, enjoy the Bigodi walk in the Bigodi village which brings you close to the recorded primates, experience birds and enjoy the interaction between the village people and the tourists
Day 5: Departure back to Kampala
After breakfast, drive back to the Entebbe airport for your flight back, however, you will have an en-route lunch along the way.
