Day 1: Arrival at Kanombe airport.
Upon your arrival, meet your English peaking driver guide and transferring to your hotel okapi hotel meals plan for Dinner and over night
Day 2 Kigali City. Drive
After morning breakfast, set off for the Kigali city tour to Visit places like the Nyamata genocide church, Ntarama genocide church and lastly go to Gisozi national museum, return for lunch at Bourbon coffee restaurant before proceeding to Volcanoes national park with an overnight at Hotel muhabula (this hotel is in 3* hotel with good rooms, free wifi and hot water (self contained rooms)
Day 3 Parc National des Volcans.
Morning breakfast at 6:00 am after set off for the morning briefing in Kinigi park head offices that begins at 7:00 Am don’t miss to enjoy the Kinyarwanda dance that is given to clients as we finalize the process of gorilla permit registration. After set off for gorilla trekking into our respective gorilla families within des Volcans.park ,go for Gorilla tracking through the forest, sometimes taking up to 4 hours in the forest. But coming face to face with the great primates is well worth the effort. After the trek, we shall be awarded the certificate, then proceed to hotel muhabula for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Dianne fossey graves yard visit.
After morning breakfast, return back to kinigi for briefing before proceeding to the hike to Dianney fossey grave yards, trekking ,within Parc National des Volcans. This trek is enjoyable and exposes you to the different way of life that this lady used to live while she was educating the world about mountain gorillas before she was killed, the Hike takes 5-7 hours to get to the Top of kalisimbi and to descend, These are unique experience so looking at them will be a life time experience.after go to our lodge. Dinner and Overnight as above.
Day 5: cross to Uganda.
Drive to get to enjoy the beauty of the cascading chained volcanic mountains to get to cross the Cyanika boarder to Uganda via Kisoro.this is about 30Km from Ruhengeri to Kisoro town, you will visit lake Mutanda where you will be able to go for boat ride to enjoy the beauty of this lava damed lake formed as result of volcanic activities from the Volcano mountains. Dinner and overnight at Kisoro travelers rest( this hotel has a great history in life of late Dianney fossey as its where she used to live inn while conducting her duties along volcanoes ranges that includes Uganda and Rwanda) this hotel has wifi and self contained rooms
Day 6: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Forest.
Early in the morning, head to the park headquarter for briefing by the park rangers, after being assigned the gorilla group, enter the forest in search of the great apes. Tracking takes about 1-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After finding them, you are allowed to spend 1 hour with them. Dinner and overnight at Travelers Rest Hotel.
Day 7: Golden monkey trekking
Day after morning breakfast, drive to Mgahinga national park at Ntebeko park offices for briefing before proceeding to golden monkey trekking , within Mgahinga national . Tracking the golden monkeys takes 3-5 hours in the forest, enjoy them playing around in trees. These are unique primates and endangered. So looking at them will be life time experience. After go to your lodge. Dinner and Overnight as above
Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park
Very early morning, drive through the ruhija section of Bwindi to get to ishasha part of queen Elizabeth National Park. To search for the tree climbing lions, A game drive en route is rewarding with a variety of animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, mongoose among others. Lunch will be taken savanna resort hotel, dinner and overnight at Bush lodge that is overlooking the kazinga channel
Day 9: Game drive.
Morning cup of coffee, go for another game drive in the kasenyi sector, to search for other wildlife, return for full breakfast, as you get to relax along the channel expect to see a pool of hippos playing on the river banks, and in the afternoon, drive to mweya peninsula to go for boat cruise at kazinga channel where you will be rewarded by many hippos, elephants and birds. Dinner and overnight at Bush lodge.
Day 10: Drive Back to Kigali.
Driving time is about 7 hours, but on this last day, you can choose either to be dropped off at Kigali international airport or at Entebbe international airport. This marks the end of your African gorillas and wildlife safari in Uganda/Rwanda.
